What gave birth to M.A.S.K?

Her Story in Her Own Words

I didn't always work as a therapist.

My academic journey began with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Delhi College Of Art, University of Delhi. Following this, I ventured into the export industry, where I spent approximately 30 years. Starting as an employee, I eventually transitioned to running my own business. During this period, I also got married and welcomed two wonderful children into my life.

My path towards becoming a mental health practitioner truly began after I got married. I experienced the highs and lows of life, navigating through different life stages and facing various challenges. These experiences included adapting to new environments, managing the daily grind, dealing with family dynamics, and witnessing the growth of my children amidst life's complexities.

As time passed, I found myself struggling with self-confidence, which prompted me to pursue a Soft Skill Training and Image Management course. During this training, the idea of studying psychology was suggested to me, leading me to enroll in a Master's degree program in Psychology at the Indira Gandhi National Open University.

Psychology had always intrigued me, especially the idea of counseling teenagers to bridge the gap between them and their parents. This enrollment provided me with the tools to pursue this passion. During my second year of study, I completed an internship under a psychologist, where I had my first experiences with counseling and hypnotherapy.

As my journey progressed, I realized the importance of working on myself to effectively help others. I began attending counseling sessions with a hypnotherapist, which helped me address deep-rooted issues in my subconscious. This experience, coupled with my academic and practical learning, laid the foundation for my desire to help others heal.

With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns, I had the opportunity to further my learning. I completed various therapy courses, enhancing my skills in psychological counseling.

Today, my wealth of life experience, combined with my theoretical knowledge and practical training, allows me to approach issues like anxiety, depression, and relationship problems with empathy and understanding.

This journey led to the creation of Mind And Soul Klinic (M.A.S.K.), where I strive to provide holistic mental health support to those in need.
